Crispy yet healthier air fryer bang bang shrimp tacos, celebrated for their flavor and convenience, featuring crunchy shrimp and vibrant slaw.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha (or to taste)
- 4 small flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage (for slaw)
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (for garnish)
- Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge the shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip in beaten egg, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
- Place the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking for 8-10 minutes or until crispy.
- In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha to make the sauce.
- Toss the cooked shrimp in the sauce until well coated.
- Serve the shrimp in flour tortillas, topped with slaw and cilantro, with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
For added flavor, experiment with different seasonings in the flour mixture and toss shrimp in sauce while warm for better adherence.
