Description

A delicious ahi tuna steak seared to perfection and complemented by a savory soy ginger glaze, perfect for a quick yet gourmet meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 ahi tuna steaks (6-8 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, ginger, honey, sesame oil, and minced garlic until well combined.
  2. Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Place the tuna steaks in the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes per side for a medium-rare cook. Adjust the cooking time based on your preferred doneness.
  5. In the last minute of cooking, brush the soy ginger glaze over the tuna steaks for added flavor.
  6. Remove the tuna steaks from the skillet, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve immediately.

Notes

Marinate the tuna steaks in the soy ginger glaze for 10-15 minutes before cooking to boost flavor. Slice against the grain for better presentation.
