Description

A quick and delicious pan-seared salmon recipe with a bright citrus butter glaze, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2.2 pounds (1 kg) skinless salmon fillets
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • ⅓ cup (80 grams) of butter
  • 2 navel oranges, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Chopped parsley for finishing touches

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle coarse salt on the salmon pieces on all sides.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat for about 3 minutes until it turns golden brown.
  3. Add the salmon to the pan, placing the top side facing down. Fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Pour in the fresh orange juice and add the lemon zest. Gently turn the salmon over and cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting the salmon pieces with the sauce.
  5. Transfer the cooked salmon to a plate. Top with fresh lemon slices and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.

Notes

Use a cast iron pan for even heat distribution. Flip the salmon only once to keep it juicy.
